MANHATTAN, NY – The lone figure stood in one of today’s many empty, downtown, New York offices quietly watching the lobby entrance of World News Network headquarters through a set of field glasses. From the twenty-fifth floor of an adjacent high-rise, he was hidden from view by the one-way, mirrored, glass-skin of the building; he would go unobserved from offices in the neighboring buildings.
Derrick was dressed in business attire to blend in with his surroundings, a charcoal-gray suit, a paisley patterned tie and wingtip oxford shoes.
The long shadows cast by the buildings by the setting sun were beginning to give way to the approaching darkness. His cellphone, lying next to him on the desk, began to dance across the dusty surface with an incoming call, he picked it up and took a briefly look at the incoming number and answered in Arabic.
“ما هو وضعك؟” (“What is your status?”)
An electronically altered voice responded.
“كل شيء أخضر للذهاب في واشنطن.” (“Everything is green to go in Washington.”)
There was a brief period of silence followed by two audible beeps indicating the caller had disconnected the connection.
“One of the rewards in this line of work was seeing justice meted out to bad guys, especially those bad guys who thought themselves untouchable. Today, the once untouchable media would find out what that kind of justice looked like. Today, the power of the radicals running the Democrat Party might fall.”

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.
First proposed in 1966 and named after Columbia University sociologists Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven, the Cloward-Piven Strategy seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.
Inspired by the August 1965 riots in the black district of Watts in Los Angeles (which erupted after police had used batons to subdue an African American man suspected of drunk driving), Cloward and Piven published an article titled “The Weight of the Poor: A Strategy to End Poverty” in the May 2, 1966 issue of The Nation. Following its publication, The Nation sold an unprecedented 30,000 reprints. Activists were abuzz over the so-called “crisis strategy” or “Cloward-Piven Strategy,” as it came to be called. Many were eager to put it into effect.

Yea, I’m cool
In their 1966 article, Cloward and Piven charged that the ruling classes used welfare to weaken the poor; that by providing a social safety net, the rich doused the fires of
rebellion. Poor people can advance only when “the rest of society is afraid of them,” Cloward told The New York Times on September 27, 1970. Rather than placating the poor with government hand-outs, wrote Cloward and Piven, activists should work to sabotage and destroy the welfare system; the collapse of the welfare state would ignite a political and financial crisis that would rock the nation; poor people would rise in revolt; only then would “the rest of society” accept their demands.

“Henry was like many young people who voted for Martinez little understanding what his policies would do to the economy and job market. Things were bad, they were going to get even worse, the Cloward-Piven Strategy the President and his party were following demanded the misery.
Henry and those young people like him remained blissfully ignorant of what was in point of fact happening and why. Most were schooled to believe in the utopian theories that at no time once held up in the real world. The trillion-dollar “Stimulus Bill” had done nothing to improve the country’s economic conditions as promised. Instead, the money was being pumped to the eleven percent of the American workforce that were unionized.
The things that history had shown would work, “Reaganomic’s” for instance, would never see the light of day. Keynesian Economics would continue to live on in spite of its failures. Young people like Henry never questioned the motives of the media, the young man unflinchingly believed whatever Deena Crawford (media establishment) had to say and who to blame.”
Dr. Victor Magnason, has six years left to live, his last dream…to leave behind a conservative news empire called Magnason Enterprise News Network (MENN). Victor sees his news service as the only means of saving the country from a corrupt media who are helping radicalize the country. The threat posed by the three publishers is real. Americans need to know what is happening to them and why – before it is too late.
Victor’s plans call for a revolutionary news service, one that undermines the brick and mortar operations of the publishers and crushes them under the weight of the very monuments built to satiate their massive egos. Victor predicts the media establishment will go the way of the dinosaurs, overnight.
The publishers discover Victor’s plan, the news barons understand the threat he poses and react quickly. The publishers’ puppets have taken control of Congress, their handpicked man will soon be sitting in the White House. When that happens, Victor will be stopped in his tracks because the publishers know his Achilles Heal, he needs a free and open internet to succeed.
The Special Activities Division is a covert, paramilitary asset on call by one man, the President of the United States. Director, Derrick Mitchum is aware of what happens when a liberal is in the White House. The Director, however, has never seen anything like the sort of man he is about to serve.
Derrick sends his best team on one last mission under the outgoing president, their position, however, is compromised by the incoming administration as part of a political agenda to defeat the Republican Party, once and for all. Derrick learns of the conspiracy from an unlikely source, Victor Magnason, as it hatches. Victor is desperate to see his vision come true. The Director and his team will go rogue rather than knowingly walk into the trap laid by the new administration. Only one thing stands in the way of both parties exposing the sordid truth. Only one violent act will make everything right.

A fictional account of the demise of today’s news establishment. Other than going out of business, some day, the only thing that would morally level the playing field would be the leveling of the biggest news enterprises, themselves. That’s what this novel is all about, and yes, you may find this read a bit too far-reaching, too extreme, possibly even disturbing – that was my intention. But, let me let you in on a little secret…some of us would not mind if today’s liberal media were cut down to size…some of us would even see their demise as one of the best things that could happen in our country. That is how bad things have gotten with today’s news reporting. Enough on the philosophical, on to the novel. More
The three, major, news publishers are bent on changing the nation with their control over the truth; their goal: nothing less than to radically change America to their benefit. A threat to their liberal monopoly surfaces with competitor Magnason News Network, they squash it like a bug through their puppets in Washington. The publishers, their pawns continue to believe themselves invincible-they are deathly wrong.
